About Us
The Ovens & Murray District Swimming Association (OMDSA) supports and promotes swimming, bringing together swimmers, clubs, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and families from across our region.
As part of the Swimming Victoria country swimming network, the Ovens & Murray District provides opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities to participate, compete, develop and progress within the sport.
Our District
The Ovens & Murray District is made up of 14 swimming clubs across North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
Covering a large geographical area and communities on both sides of the Victorian–New South Wales border, our clubs are divided into two regions – Central and Southern.
Central Region
The Central Region consists of eight clubs:
Albury
North Albury
Corowa
Wangaratta Amateur
Wangaratta Stingrays
Wodonga City
Wodonga Amateur
Yarrawonga-Mulwala
Southern Region
The Southern Region consists of six clubs:
Beechworth
Corryong
Mt Beauty
Myrtleford
Rutherglen
Tallangatta
Together, our 14 clubs form a strong and connected regional swimming community, providing opportunities for swimmers from small towns and regional centres to participate in competitive swimming and progress through the sport.
What We Do
OMDSA works alongside our member clubs and Swimming Victoria to support the delivery and development of swimming throughout the District.
Our role includes coordinating the District competition calendar, including Pennant Meets, Championships and Relay Championships; providing representative and development opportunities for swimmers; supporting pathways to Country and State competition; developing coaches and technical officials; and supporting the volunteers and committees who make club swimming possible.
Our Swimming Community
At the heart of the Ovens & Murray District are the people who make swimming happen.
Our coaches, technical officials, committee members, timekeepers, team managers, volunteers and families contribute countless hours to provide safe, welcoming and well-run opportunities for our swimmers.
From a swimmer attending their first local meet to those representing their club or District at Country and State level, we aim to provide an environment where every swimmer can develop their skills, challenge themselves and enjoy being part of the wider swimming community.
Developing Swimming Across Our Region
Our focus extends beyond competition.
OMDSA is committed to strengthening swimming across our region by supporting the development of swimmers, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and club leaders.
By bringing our 14 clubs together, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities across the District, we aim to ensure swimming continues to grow and thrive throughout the Ovens & Murray region.
